Reveals 2018
It's been quite the NinoEx season, for your mod and many others. Sorry for the mess yet again, and thank you for making it through till the end with me! The enthusiasm of all of the participants and readers means the world to me.
Of course, I'd like to extend the usual special thanks to my beta folks, and to my two illustrious pinch hitters this year:
amh1988 and
selvage, without whom this exchange would not have seen the light at the end of the tunnel.
Okay, that's enough, time for the goods.
I'm highly considering making the transition to AO3 next year. Last year when I ran a poll on Twitter, it hadn't seemed like a hugely popular choice (though there were some participants who were very adamant about it, as many people are starting to shift to doing fic things exclusively on AO3). It loses some of the formatting customization within posts, but as an exchange platform, I think it automates and simplifies a lot of the issues that end up causing delays (manual posting, timing, formatting fixes, etc.). It's also better equipped to handle long, multi-part stories because it has a chaptering function built in. The kicker is that (from what I can tell) there's much less wiggle room for late submissions, so we'd all have to be on our A-game and committed to being on time for this to work.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Nah bruh stick to DW? I plan to be here curating the annual Nino party for as long as people want it, so let me know what I can do to make it better. Hope to see you again next year! :3.

♥ Thanks again for all that you do to make this great! It was a lot of fun, and I'll be back next year!

I think AO3 is fine too, I join an exchange there and the facilitation is quite easier for exchanges, with the guidelines separated on a different page from the request and offers page and all! What I’m not sure about is how many people use AO3/have an account. But it’s definitely worth considering!

Could you tell I had fun? ;)

I'm fine with AO3!!

Anyway, thank you so much for a great experience! Something about exchanges seems to really bring out some amazing creativity! Thank you to every reader, and writer. And hey, it looks like my writer and I had a mutual exchange, how cool is that!?

I agree with you about ao3, it takes time to create an account, but if it's more convenience for long fic, i will agree with everyone to move

As for AO3 thing... I have never participate in an exchange there but if the majority decided to move AO3, I am fine with it too!
And most of everything... Dearest @gomushroom, you are an angel and can I hug you now? :")

I've never participated on an exchange on AO3 (haven't even moved any fic there ^^;) but I do have an account and I don't mind moving there if it happens!
Also @mikunicchi ♥ thank you for the lovely story!!

Thanks to the nino_mod and all authors for the first stories. It was a lovely exchange and I still need to catch up with some stories. As for AO3 I don't mind moving there. But I don't know what will happen if you need more time to finish your story which can happen so easily after all.

I'm pretty sure extensions can still be given and the mod can delay reveals with the AO3 exchanges - plus from what I've read on a multifandom exchange meme (which is a good place to ask questions about running exchanges if you have any - just pm me and I can give you a link if you like) a lot of people post what's called a bus-test fic (ie if you get hit by a bus after posting it still passes as an acceptable story) and then use the week or so between due date and reveals to tweak their fic, or add extra words to get it to best possible fic.

As for AO3, I'm up for it, though I do think the option of kudos will mean fewer comments for authors. If it gives fewer headaches to our long-suffering mod, though, I am convinced.

Thank you, Ninomod, for all your patience and hard work, like every year! I can only imagine how much work lies behind an exchange and I really respect and admire you for taking over this task again and again. I hope there will be even more awesome exchanges also in the future!
I have no idea how exchanges work on AO3 tbh... but if it's easier for you to handle an exchange there, I'm willing to go with you.
