There's something very surreal about the fact that this is the last reveals post I'm going to make for this exchange. I thought I'd have a lot to say (in my heart I do, probably), and I was thinking of doing some kind of rundown of just how many words by how many authors in how many stories for how many pairings were created specifically for this exchange over the past ten years. But partly I'm lazy, and partly I believe that this exchange speaks for itself -- has been able to get to that point through a literal decade of support from each and every one of you.

So I'll just do the regular mentions: special thanks to my betas (including folks who haven't written for this fandom in years but still come to the rescue whenever Nino season comes around), and to two particularly wonderful pinch hitters, without whom we wouldn't have been able to finish our tenth year so smoothly: [profile] phrenk and [personal profile] selvage.

And of course, to you. Whoever you are, whenever you're reading this, in whatever capacity you've participated. It's been an absolute pleasure and honor to interact with so many talented and enthusiastic writers and readers, people who've come and gone and come back again, including more than a handful who've been here from the very beginning. I've lived almost a third of my life and met some of my closest friends over the course of this exchange, which is kind of wild to think about, but I suppose that's what ten years gets you.

So yes, you. Thank you for being here. It means so much to me.

Now, onto the reveals!

Reveals! )

Now, while this is definitely the last time this exchange will exist in this format, I think we can still entertain the idea of having some kind of Nino Party in a different format (something like an AO3 prompt meme, which is less pressure for the writers and less work for your mod), if there's enough interest. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Also! Since the fic world has clearly shifted away from journal-based fic, I made an AO3 collection for the exchange: Ninomiya Exchange! Writers past and present, if your fic has been cross-posted to AO3, please consider adding it to the collection. Right now only my fic is in there, which is kind of embarrassing... Relatedly, I've never tried to keep it a secret, but if you didn't know specifically who I am, here's the big Mod Reveal. XD. To add your fic to the collection (when posting a new story or editing an existing story): Go to the "Associations" section, and in the "Post to Collections / Challenges" field, type in "ninoex" and this collection should appear. It would be absolutely wonderful if we could get a good chunk of the fic from this exchange in one place on a platform that's more current with the times. :3.

Hm. I think that's it! Thanks for ten years, y'all. See you around. <3

This has been a record-breakingly late Nino Exchange, and I'm sorry that we lost steam as we finished things off. Thank you regardless for all of your support and patience, and as always for your endless enthusiasm. This exchange would be nothing without you. <3

Of course, special thanks go to my betas, and to our hero pinch hitter this year, [personal profile] reveetoile, for ensuring that we made it out of this year alive, with all the fic lined up.

Now, reveeeeaaals!

Reveeeeaaals! )

This exchange turns ten next year, and with any luck we'll be able to make it the party Nino deserves. I'm in if you are. :3.
[personal profile] nino_mod
It's been quite the NinoEx season, for your mod and many others. Sorry for the mess yet again, and thank you for making it through till the end with me! The enthusiasm of all of the participants and readers means the world to me.

Of course, I'd like to extend the usual special thanks to my beta folks, and to my two illustrious pinch hitters this year: [personal profile] amh1988 and [personal profile] selvage, without whom this exchange would not have seen the light at the end of the tunnel.

Okay, that's enough, time for the goods.

Reveals! )

I'm highly considering making the transition to AO3 next year. Last year when I ran a poll on Twitter, it hadn't seemed like a hugely popular choice (though there were some participants who were very adamant about it, as many people are starting to shift to doing fic things exclusively on AO3). It loses some of the formatting customization within posts, but as an exchange platform, I think it automates and simplifies a lot of the issues that end up causing delays (manual posting, timing, formatting fixes, etc.). It's also better equipped to handle long, multi-part stories because it has a chaptering function built in. The kicker is that (from what I can tell) there's much less wiggle room for late submissions, so we'd all have to be on our A-game and committed to being on time for this to work.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Nah bruh stick to DW? I plan to be here curating the annual Nino party for as long as people want it, so let me know what I can do to make it better. Hope to see you again next year! :3.

I was looking at the reveals post from last year in which I bored you all with my woes about how hard a season it was, and today-me just was like "oh self, little did you realize". But, well, what started last year ended this year, so if nothing else, I won't have the same worries next year. XD.

Anyway, I feel like I'm constantly thanking you and apologizing to you for being awesome despite my being the worst, but here we are again: Thank you, and I'm sorry. Y'all are great, from the writers to the readers to the general cheerleaders, and I hope you had a good time despite everything.

Of course, the usual thank yous go out to my beta crew, and especially to our pinch hitters during what was a rough year for everyone: [livejournal.com profile] lover_youshould (perpetual pinch hitting star of NinoEx), and [livejournal.com profile] airairo and [livejournal.com profile] calerine (who both came to the rescue despite being very busy and not even signing up for the exchange this year). How's a mod supposed to face humanity when she's got friends like these!

Anyway, I know what you're all here for.

Reveals~ )

In addition, this year was our first year on the nicer, friendlier DW (with full mirrors on LJ). How did you like it? Should we stay here, go back to LJ, move to AO3, something else entirely? With the Rapidly Changing Internet comes many, many growing pains, but I want to keep this community as accessible as possible. Any thoughts on this front would be greatly appreciated! :3.

That's all, folks. Until next year!

I've been feeling a Certain Way this entire run so I want to say briefly (uh, reveals under the cut if you want to skip my feelings): thank you for being here. My absolute favorite thing about being the mod is getting to know people, whether that's in the e-mails I trade with writers, or in comments people leave on the fic they love, or in passing when someone on my Twitter list mentions how excited they are or how much fun they're having.

I feel like this year was the hardest yet, on a personal level for many (your mod included, for a number of reasons, and I'm sorry if my being so scattered made for a less-than-excellent experience for you; thank you again for your patience and understanding), but also because, as I heard more than ever this year, the pressure on writers is high because the standard for fic in this exchange is top-notch -- and it's all your fault. Thank you to all of the writers who made it out and pushed through rough times to contribute to another round of fantastic fic (whether it was your first or your sixth or your celebrated return after time away), and to all of the readers and lurkers who get just as worked up about the exchange as those who produce/receive fic for it. Honestly, this exchange is everything it is because you all get so excited and make it so special, so despite life being what it is for all of us, thank you for letting the Ninomiya Exchange be a part of it.

Of course, I owe some folks the usual writerly thank yous: to my beta help, [livejournal.com profile] lysanderpuck and [livejournal.com profile] shardaunei (the latter who, yet again, offered to beta a huge amount of fic without even signing up for the exchange; next year all of the fic will be co-dedicated to her), and to my pinch hitters: no one, because you all are effing amazing and you all delivered fantastically.

... anyway, sorry about that. Feelings done; thanks for reading if you did. Now onto the real stuff:

TL;DR, just tell me who wrote my fic )

That's all, folks! Hope to see you around next year, in whatever capacity you choose to be here. :3.
[identity profile] nino-mod.livejournal.com
It's the first day of the month after Nino Month, which means we've officially made it through Nino Season! Thanks for being a part of the fifth anniversary party! As usual, let me begin with the absolutely, positively, very very necessary acknowledgments:

- I had three super fabulous pinch hitters this year: thank you to [livejournal.com profile] astrangerenters, [livejournal.com profile] inaudible_d, and [livejournal.com profile] lover_youshould, who deserve all the hugs and kisses they consent to!

- And of course, to each and every one of you, for whatever your role here was: reading, writing, being excited, lurking, what have you. I say it every year because there's nothing that comes out of my mouth that's more sincere: this exchange would actually, literally be nothing without you.

And now...

Onto the reveals! )

Thank you all, again and always, for everything. This year was definitely one of the most successful Nino parties we've ever had, and it's all because of you. My role's really minimal compared to what you all do, but I'm so glad and proud to be a part of something that so many people seem to enjoy (and that brings such consistently great fic to boot).

As always, you know where to find me, so feel free to hit me up if you need me 365.25 days a year, for Nino fic business and otherwise. ♥

Until next year! :3.
[identity profile] nino-mod.livejournal.com
It's been a hectic Nino season for me, but thanks to all your love and support, we've made it through another wonderful year of Nino Exchange!

Before I start naming the names you're all curious about, I need to give my usual shout-outs:

- Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] shardaunei for helping me with betaing even though she wasn't able to participate in the exchange this year! You are a winner.

- [livejournal.com profile] lover_youshould continues to be the champion face of my heart for taking on a pinch hit and knocking it out of the park.

- And of course, each and every one of you readers and writers and lurkers, for giving me a reason to do this every year. This exchange would literally be nothing without you!

Yes, I know; I need to get to the fun stuff:

Dum-dum-dum... )

Thank you again for everything. As always, I'm around for whatever you need from me, even beyond Nino season. I'll be waiting for your messages at the usual places with 'bated breath.

Until next year. :3.
[identity profile] nino-mod.livejournal.com
Here it is, the moment you've all been waiting for~ But first! I want to take this opportunity to thank the usual suspects:

- My trusty betas for their hard work on several fic!

- My pinch hitter for the pinchiest pinch hit that ever did pinch, the champion face of my heart, [livejournal.com profile] lover_youshould!

And last but not least,

- You! For reading, writing, enjoying, and celebrating with me this year and every year. This exchange would be nothing without you. I hope Nino Month treated you well this time 'round. :3.

AND SUDDENLY REVEALS?! )

Thank you again for everything. As always, feel free to say things -- anything, everything -- to me via e-mail (ninoexchange@gmail.com), LJ PM, Twitter, Tumblr, whatever. Your Nino fic wish is my Nino fic command.

Until next year. ♥
[identity profile] nino-mod.livejournal.com
Reveals, yesss! We made it!

First -- always first -- thank you so much for participating. This exchange wouldn't be possible without you writers and you readers and the enthusiasm you all have for it. Running an exchange can be surprisingly stressful, but knowing you're having as much fun as you are makes it all worth it.

And of course, thank you to my special helpers -- those of you I tapped for beta jobs, as well as our super pro pinch hitters: [livejournal.com profile] alphie_damiek, [livejournal.com profile] harinezumi_kun, [livejournal.com profile] ltgmars, and [livejournal.com profile] primroseshows (who offered to pinch even though she wasn't participating in the exchange to begin with, what a star ♥).

And without further ado, here's the table!

HERE! )

Thank you again for all of the love you put into this exchange. I had a lot of fun. :3. As always, comments, suggestions, and whatnot are exceedingly welcome -- send them my way via e-mail (ninoexchange@gmail.com) or LJ PM.

Until next year. ♥
[identity profile] nino-mod.livejournal.com
First and foremost, I'd like to thank you all for playing along this year. This exchange quite literally wouldn't have happened if it weren't for our lovely participants and readers, and I'm just thrilled at how amazing this experience has been. I hope that you've had as much fun as I have.

Secondly, super special thanks go out to all of the people I tapped to help other authors with beta reading, and especially to our pinch hitters: [livejournal.com profile] aeslis, [livejournal.com profile] harinezumi_kun, and [livejournal.com profile] ltgmars. Without you fine folks, we wouldn't have made it through this exchange alive. So extra love to you!

I'd come up with a third point, but I'm sure you just want to get to the reveals already. So let's get to it!

Who wrote what for whom?! Reveals 2011~! )

I'd like to thank you all one more time for making our first ever Nino Exchange such a huge success! If you have any comments about how the exchange went this year or suggestions for the future, please don't hesitate to drop me a line via e-mail (ninoexchange@gmail.com) or LJ PM, whenever you feel like it. I am here to serve you and your Nino fic needs 365.25 days of the year!

You all are great. Hope to see you next year. ♥
