Reveals 2016: The "No One Wants Your Feelings, Mod" Edition
I've been feeling a Certain Way this entire run so I want to say briefly (uh, reveals under the cut if you want to skip my feelings): thank you for being here. My absolute favorite thing about being the mod is getting to know people, whether that's in the e-mails I trade with writers, or in comments people leave on the fic they love, or in passing when someone on my Twitter list mentions how excited they are or how much fun they're having.
I feel like this year was the hardest yet, on a personal level for many (your mod included, for a number of reasons, and I'm sorry if my being so scattered made for a less-than-excellent experience for you; thank you again for your patience and understanding), but also because, as I heard more than ever this year, the pressure on writers is high because the standard for fic in this exchange is top-notch -- and it's all your fault. Thank you to all of the writers who made it out and pushed through rough times to contribute to another round of fantastic fic (whether it was your first or your sixth or your celebrated return after time away), and to all of the readers and lurkers who get just as worked up about the exchange as those who produce/receive fic for it. Honestly, this exchange is everything it is because you all get so excited and make it so special, so despite life being what it is for all of us, thank you for letting the Ninomiya Exchange be a part of it.
Of course, I owe some folks the usual writerly thank yous: to my beta help,
lysanderpuck and
shardaunei (the latter who, yet again, offered to beta a huge amount of fic without even signing up for the exchange; next year all of the fic will be co-dedicated to her), and to my pinch hitters: no one, because you all are effing amazing and you all delivered fantastically.
... anyway, sorry about that. Feelings done; thanks for reading if you did. Now onto the real stuff:
I accidentally assigned a writer/recipient pair to each other, which was the result of a whole lot of messiness in the assignment phase.
jade_lil and
phrenk, I'm sorry for not being able to give you a more exciting reveals announcement. I hope you still had fun. <3
That's all, folks! Hope to see you around next year, in whatever capacity you choose to be here. :3.
