I've been feeling a Certain Way this entire run so I want to say briefly (uh, reveals under the cut if you want to skip my feelings): thank you for being here. My absolute favorite thing about being the mod is getting to know people, whether that's in the e-mails I trade with writers, or in comments people leave on the fic they love, or in passing when someone on my Twitter list mentions how excited they are or how much fun they're having.

I feel like this year was the hardest yet, on a personal level for many (your mod included, for a number of reasons, and I'm sorry if my being so scattered made for a less-than-excellent experience for you; thank you again for your patience and understanding), but also because, as I heard more than ever this year, the pressure on writers is high because the standard for fic in this exchange is top-notch -- and it's all your fault. Thank you to all of the writers who made it out and pushed through rough times to contribute to another round of fantastic fic (whether it was your first or your sixth or your celebrated return after time away), and to all of the readers and lurkers who get just as worked up about the exchange as those who produce/receive fic for it. Honestly, this exchange is everything it is because you all get so excited and make it so special, so despite life being what it is for all of us, thank you for letting the Ninomiya Exchange be a part of it.

Of course, I owe some folks the usual writerly thank yous: to my beta help, [livejournal.com profile] lysanderpuck and [livejournal.com profile] shardaunei (the latter who, yet again, offered to beta a huge amount of fic without even signing up for the exchange; next year all of the fic will be co-dedicated to her), and to my pinch hitters: no one, because you all are effing amazing and you all delivered fantastically.

... anyway, sorry about that. Feelings done; thanks for reading if you did. Now onto the real stuff:

TL;DR, just tell me who wrote my fic )

That's all, folks! Hope to see you around next year, in whatever capacity you choose to be here. :3.

Title: Troubleshooting
Pairing: Ohmiya
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None
Summary: Nino is lured to his company’s new office in Honolulu with the promise of running his own network. Unfortunately, working alone means he also has to take tech support calls from the team’s clueless manager.
Notes: A million thanks to my betas and cheerleaders who helped me keep writing even after life got in the way, to an amazingly patient and understanding mod, and to arashikuro for an irresistible prompt!

Title: Sakebe yo, Go! Go!
Pairing/Focus: Matsumiya
Rating: PG
Warnings: None.
Summary: When you think about it, every event in a person's life exists as a single discrete moment, each separate from the next. It's Nino's job to string the pieces together into a story worth telling.
Notes: Hi, [livejournal.com profile] an_jung! I decided to go partially with your journalism prompt, so I hope you enjoy it! This is probably a little hard to follow, so my apologies in advance for that. Thanks to N for everything. <3

Title: if the seas catch fire
Pairing/Focus: Nino/Sho
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Traumatic backstory, famine, mild PTSD, background character death—all of which are NOT mentioned in detail. Accidental marriage. Barebacking. Cultural misunderstandings. Angst with a happy ending.
Summary: When Nino gets the job as an interpreter for one of Earth's ambassadors, he didn't expect to form a rivalry with the Ambassador's private secretary.
Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] gomushroom. With your “space travel” and “service” prompts in mind, this “space translator AU” happened. I wanted to give you Matsumiya, but somehow, whatever I came up with didn’t fit them. I hope this is still something you can enjoy. Thanks to my betas and my cheerleaders. Some of the days mentioned in the story are counted in cycles, so there’s a day cycle and a night cycle that constitute one day. Talks regarding diplomacy are also present but not too excessive. Title is from E. E. Cummings.

Title: Logic
Pairing: Ohno/Nino
Rating: R
Warning: Slight swearing.
Summary: “None of this makes sense at all.” Nino mused.
Author’s Notes: Just like the summary, I’m afraid this doesn’t make sense at all. I was stuck with Nino being blind with lots of smut and BDSM, but I hit a dead end (thanks to good-for-nothing-untimely writer’s block), and then there’s the futuristic war AU, and things got a bit complicated. Hopefully, I still manage to put some of your preference here and there. Thanks to my lovely beta who had been very helpful! You know who you are! Of course, to Nino-mod too for being really considerate and understanding for a lost case like me.

Title: The Most Difficult Thing of Being BFF
Pairing/Focus: NinoAi, Junba
Genre: Drama/Angst
Rating: PG13
Warnings: Moody and angsty Nino appears in this story.
Summary: Aiba has made too many wrong choices of boyfriends so Nino encourages him to go out with the best choice in Nino’s opinion – Matsumoto Jun.  The Problem is Jun is not the one Aiba truly wants.
Notes: Dearest [livejournal.com profile] murrponchan. I am sorry to keep you waiting for so long. Finally, it’s here J Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work on something refreshing like this story. I gives so much thought into writing this and I really want to make you happy with this exchange story. I tried to write a heavy-angsty/ hurt&comfort/ romance story like you says you’d like. It proves to be a real challenge, especially as this is a NinoAi story at heart. I can only hope the final product at least satisfies you in some aspect. I would like to also express my sincerely and wholeheartedly gratitude to the dearest Mod and my awesome beta for being so kind and incredibly patient with me throughout this time. Thank you for bearing with my inefficiency and slow work. You girls are the best!

Title: Or We Could Blossom
Pairing/Focus: Ohno/Nino, Sho/Jun
Rating: Up to NC-17
Warnings: Slight violence, perilous situations, mentions of injuries. Possibly dubious medical and military terminology.
Summary: Nino is a talented young surgeon who is at a crossroads in his medical career. Ohno is the fearless Captain of Japan’s elite Special Forces Group. Their paths cross in Japan, but things do not work out. Months later, they are surprised to find each other in the same UN outpost at Cyprus, both on missions of their own.
Notes: Adapted from the hit Korean drama Descendants of the Sun. Some parts are grittier than the genres you asked for, kleif_asu, but I tried my best to favor your preference for the lighter side of things. Thanks to all my hand-holders for listening to me whine and making finishing this possible. (Also: hi nino_mod, you’re the best!)

Summary: Not everyone’s tale at Hogwarts was particularly interesting, but the friendships were always worth it.
Notes: I know very little about Harry Potter, so when I presented the tiniest of details to my lovely beta, it was definitely not what she expected. I hope you enjoy these snippets of time.

Title: Memories of The Void
Pairing/Focus: Jun/Nino
Rating: PG-15
Warnings: lots of run-on and fragmented sentences, mental illness unique to AU
Summary: When Ninomiya lost everything, one person gave him a reason to live.
Notes: [livejournal.com profile] nino_mod is a saint for dealing with me. Thank you, always. [livejournal.com profile] astrangerenters, I admire your writing so much! Consequently I felt a lot of pressure to write for you. I started so many stories, ditched them and ended up with this useless thing. I tried, but I apologize for most likely deviating far from what you may have wanted.
