Title: Don’t Drink the Kool-Aid
Pairing/Focus: Ninomiya KazunarixToda Erika; with Nishikido Ryo, Naka Riisa, Yokoyama Yu, Aiba Masaki and Kamenashi Kazuya
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: slight incest (harmless, really, just heavy kissing between siblings)
Summary: Seeing Erika Nishikido, his best friend’s sister who he had been in love since middle school, bringing another guy to his birthday party made Ninomiya Kazunari jealous and irritated. Unheeding Erika’s warning, he drank a pitcher of Kool-Aid Yoko had prepared to drown out his feelings. Why Kool-Aid? Nino has a low tolerance of alcohol. He should’ve known better Yoko just doesn’t make “regular” Kool-Aid.
Notes: [livejournal.com profile] aeslis, I tried my best to incorporate into the story the things you wanted from the prompt, with slight references and mentions. Light comedic feel is what I’m comfortable with, so pardon the silliness. I hope you like it.

Nino stirred in his sleep, the faint scent of a woman tickled his senses awake. Still too sleepy, he kept his eyes closed, but slowly moved his hand across the soft surface of the bed to feel a warm body next to him. Slowly, he pulled her closer to him, his face moving to find soft, warm lips that he kissed fervently. Hmm… so nice and supple. Whoever he was kissing had hungrily kissed him back until Nino felt a surge of heat flowing down between his legs.

Nino glided his hand up the silky arms, then down the side of her body. He moved his hand up the planes of her stomach and felt the rise and fall of her breasts. He playfully squeezed one, making the woman groan in delight. She jabbed her tongue into his mouth that he gladly accepted. He pressed his hardness between her legs, his not-so-subtle way in telling her what he wanted the most. He slowly trailed his kisses down her jaw to the pulse of her neck, sucking and licking the area just below her ears.

Tickled from Nino’s kisses, she giggled softly. “Hmm, make love to me,” she said.

Nino screeched to a halt. What the hell? His eyes flew open, wide awake now as he backed up from the woman, who was jolted wide awake. They looked wide-eyed at each other, gasping in realization.

“AHHH!” Her high-pitched scream hurt his ears.

“What the fuck?!” he yelped, jumping completely out of the bed. “Riisa!”

She continued to scream, shielding her eyes with one hand and pointing at him with another. Nino looked down, and quickly covered his exposed hard-on with his hands. He looked around the room for his clothes before someone came in and got the wrong idea. Too late, the door opened and Erika materialized at the doorframe of the room. Her mouth hung open at the scene.

Nino grabbed a pillow and covered himself, grinning sheepishly at her. Riisa peeked between her fingers to check if the coast is clear. Seeing Erika, she clamped her mouth shut. The awkward silence in the room made Nino wish his sister would keep screaming.

“Okay, I’m afraid to ask,” Erika finally said after a moment, glancing back and forth between the two Ninomiya siblings. “So, um, what’s up?” She looked at Nino, or rather, farther down where the pillow hovered.

“Aniki kissed me!” Riisa jabbed an accusing finger in the air in his direction.

“You kissed me back!”

“I thought you were Ryo!” Riisa gasped, a hand flew up to her mouth, but it was too late. Nino narrowed his eyes at her.

“Why would Ryo be in bed with you?” he growled. His sister huffed.

“Why would YOU be in bed with me?” she retorted.

Nino blinked. Good point. He turned back to Erika, who still looked slightly shocked at the scene. She was staring at him, or rather his backside. He cleared his throat. She seemed to snap back from whatever trance she was in, blushing for being caught staring at his butt.

“Okay, seriously, what’s going on here?” he demanded. “And where are my pants?”

***

Nino sat uncomfortably at the end of the couch. Part of it was the situation that had happened a while ago and part was that Erika’s yoga pants were too tight, giving him a wedgie and her shirt was constricting his torso. Erika had lent him the clothes, even though it was a bit too tight on him. Except for her workout gear, she mostly wears skirts and dresses, options Nino adamantly declined. Riisa had refused to lend him clothes, saying something about his subtle way of getting in her pants.

Sitting defensively at the opposite end of the couch, Riisa sat with her arms crossed at her chest, giving him looks of disgust. She had taken a shower just as soon as Nino lamented for his pants, saying on the way to the bathroom how she needed to scrub herself of her perverted brother’s touch. She glanced at him, shuddered, then looked away. Nino rolled his eyes. She could be so dramatic.

Erika sat crossed legged on the floor across from them, her arms placed gingerly on the coffee table. She looked back and forth between the two, though every time she glanced at Nino, a tinge of pink crept on her cheeks. She cleared her throat and was about to speak when Nino looked at her.

“Nope. Don’t talk. Let’s wait for Ryo until he gets back here,” he said. Everybody sighed in unison. Where the hell was he anyway?

Everybody perked up moments later when they heard a noise at the door. Ryo made his way into the living room and was taken aback to see everybody looking at him expectantly. In his hands were bags of food and drinks.

“Whoa, you guys look tensed,” he mumbled. “I bought more food since Aiba and Yoko finished most of it last night.”

“Where have you been?” Riisa asked, shooting up to her feet at the same time with Nino who asked, “Why are you wearing my pants?”

Ryo suddenly squirmed, giving them his boyish grin whenever he felt embarrassed about something. He set the bags of groceries down on the table before turning back to Nino. He gingerly placed his hands on his shoulder, patting them a bit.

“Um, Nino, you know you’re my bestest best friend, right?” he started. Nino didn’t budge and continued to stare at him suspiciously. “Um, whoa, nice shirt. That pink pony really suits you.” Ryo’s attempt at comedy only got a growl from him.

“Ryo, why are you wearing my pants?”

Instead of replying, Ryo looked at Riisa for help. She seemed to shrink herself, looking down at her toes and biting her lower lip. Nino’s eyes narrowed. Something was up.

“What’s going on here?” he asked, making Riisa cringe from his voice and Ryo gulp.

Erika sighed. “Oh, boy. You don’t remember, do you?” she said, standing up to look at Nino. His furrowed eyebrows and frown spoke volumes to them; that he really didn’t have any idea. “I warned you not to drink the Kool-Aid.” She smacked Ryo upside the head. “I love my older brother, but he comes up with the dumbest idea.” She gave Ryo a look.

“What Kool-Aid?” Nino asked, now very much confused about everything. His head suddenly hurt, and he plopped back on the couch.

“Aniki, tell him,” Erika urged Ryo with a smack on the arm. “It was your ‘bright’ idea.” She sat back down on the floor. Ryo sat next to her to face Nino, who was rubbing his forehead. Riisa plopped back on the couch herself, waiting for the story.

“Where do I start?” he asked.

“From the beginning,” grumbled Nino.

“Okay…”

~~~~~~~~~~
24 hours ago
“Are you sure about it?” Nino heard Riisa’s voice outside the bedroom door. The fact that his sister was at his apartment, the same apartment that he shared with his friend Ryo, without his knowing that she’d be there grabbed his attention from his song writing. Getting up from the bed, he approached the door and leaned on it.
“Don’t worry,” Ryo was saying. “Your brother will never know. I won’t tell.”
“Okay, let’s do it. I won’t tell him, either.”
“Tell me what?” They both jumped at his voice when Nino got out of his room. He barely saw Ryo letting go of his sister’s arm, slightly shoving her away. “What’s all this whispering? Riisa?”
The two looked at each other before Riisa turned to Nino with a sigh and said, “Ryo is coming to my apartment tonight.” She gave an apologetic look in Ryo’s direction. She just couldn’t lie to her older brother when he puts her on the spot.
“Say what?” the tone of murder was evident in Nino’s voice. Riisa looked at Ryo, biting her lip nervously.
“Fine, if you must know, we were going to surprise you tonight for your birthday,” Ryo blurted out. This time, he glanced apologetically at Riisa.
“My birthday isn’t until next week,” Nino replied, his eyes narrowed suspiciously at them.
“Yes, but Ryo is busy next weekend,” Riisa quickly replied. “Something about a business trip….” Ryo bobbed his head to confirm her story.
“Oh. Well, uh, thank you,” Nino stammered, embarrassed for thinking something suspicious between his best friend and sister. “That’s really sweet of you guys.” He smiled brightly. “What time’s the party?”
“Uh, tonight at 8. We have to decorate and stuff,” Ryo replied, smiling slightly.
“I’ll call when it’s time for you to come to the apartment,” Riisa supplied. “Act surprised, okay?”
“Great, I’ll just wait, then,” Nino said before going back into his room. He didn’t see his friend and sister’s smiles faded as they sighed dejectedly. So much for their special date plans.
***
“So, why did you make me cancel my plans to come here?” Yoko asked when he arrived at Riisa’s apartment. He glanced around the big living space and nodded appreciatively. He wished he could afford a two-bedroom apartment by himself, but he didn’t work for a foreign company.
“Okay, I’m here, what’s the emergency?” Aiba asked as soon as he entered the door just a few moments behind Yoko. He glanced around the room and noticed something Yoko seemed to miss. “What’s with the decorations?”
Ryo came out from the kitchen carrying a tray of food. “Hey, great, I’m glad you guys made it in time,” he said, setting the tray down on the dining table. “Yoko can you help me with the drinks, please? It’s on the kitchen counter.”
“What’s going on?” Aiba asked suspiciously as Yoko went to help out. He grabbed a cracker before Ryo slapped his hand from the tray.
“Nino’s birthday party,” Ryo said. Aiba gaped at him.
“And you’re just inviting me now?”
“It’s last minute,” Riisa said, putting on the final touches of decorations on the table.
“Haha,” Yoko chortled when he came back from the kitchen with a pitcher of juice and a stack of plastic cups. “He probably heard you planning something else and trapped you guys.”
The exchanges of looks between Ryo and Riisa confirmed Yoko’s theory, making the two men laughed at their mishap. The doorbell rang just then. Ryo ordered them to hide and just play along. Still chuckling, Aiba and Yoko humored him and hid in different places in the living room.
Just as Riisa had told him, Nino acted surprised when everybody jumped out to greet him. He greet his two other friends, wondering why no one else came, though that didn’t really bother him. What he was bothered about, however, was the fact that he didn’t get any presents. He was about to mention it when the doorbell rang. He perked up. More people who hopefully got him something!
“Aniki? I’m here.” Nino’s heart nearly stopped when he heard a woman’s voice, and he nearly gasped when she came out from the hall to the living room, looking around for her brother. Her gazed landed on him instead, but she gave him a big smile. “Nino, happy birthday,” Erika said, walking up to him to give him a hug. He caught a whiff of her scented shampoo, and he used all his power not to bury his head in her hair longer than necessary. He also tried to keep his hands above her bra strap, careful not to trail them down below “friends’ zone.”
“Thank you,” Nino said, his throat feeling dry all of a sudden. He wondered if she could feel his rapid heartbeat. “I’m glad you could-“ His voice trailed when he saw a guy shyly came into the room behind her. Erika pulled back, not noticing Nino’s reaction, and greeted Aiba and Yoko.
“Hey, Erika,” Ryo said as he came out of the kitchen to serve more food. “About time you showed up.”
“Great to see you, too, aniki,” she retorted, sticking out her tongue at him. She stood beside the shy man and placed her hand on his shoulder. “Everybody, I’d like you guys to meet Kamenashi Kazuya. Kame, meet everybody.” Kame raised his hand in greeting. She led him to a seat on the couch while Riisa set up her home karaoke machine. Nino sulked to the dining table and grabbed a cup of juice, drinking it in one shot. Standing next to him, Ryo gaped at his friend’s unusual reaction.
“What’s eating you?” he asked.
“No, I’m not hungry, just thirsty,” Nino replied. Ryo chuckled at his friend’s off reply, looking at him sideways, but didn’t say anything more. Nino took another shot of juice and made a face. “What’s in this juice?” he asked. “It’s bitter.”
“Well, it’s Kool-Aid. Yoko made it.”
“Don’t drink it, then,” Erika suddenly came from behind them. She grabbed some food and nibbled on them. “If he made it, who knows what else is in there.” She smiled at Nino who just frowned at her.
There was a loud cheering from the living room as the music started from the TV screen. Aiba had grabbed the mic first and was now singing the first song. Nino’s suddenly got a headache from the noise and grabbed the pitcher of juice.
“I’ll be on the balcony,” he said, walking away before the Nishikido siblings could stop him. He sat down at the small rustic table and chairs Riisa had decorated for her balcony, spilling the juice a little when he set the pitcher roughly down on the table top. He was ecstatic to see Erika again. Then that Kame guy showed up, and he was with her. Who does that guy think he is anyway, coming here uninvited? And the way Erika had smiled at him, is he a god? Kame. Nino scoffed. What kind of a nickname is that? Is he as slow as a turtle? Psh!
Nino took another shot of the juice, slamming the cup back on the table. Part of him knew he was slightly at fault as to why he felt this way. He should have told Erika how he felt about her, back when they were still kids. Everybody looks back at the time they were young and stupid, and he should have been stupid enough to risk her brother’s wrath if he had confessed his true feelings to her. Too late now. She was apparently dating some turtle named Kazuya. Ugh, even the guy’s given name is almost like his. Nino glared at the balcony railing at that thought.
A low rumble of thunder was heard in the distance, a storm seemed to be brewing in the horizon. It was getting nippy; the wind was biting his face. He didn’t care. He could hear the laughter and singing through the glass sliding door of the balcony, but he didn’t feel like celebrating anymore. He poured another cup of juice and chugged it down. The bad weather seemed to match his mood.
***
“We should have formed a band together,” Yoko slurred, lounging lazily on the couch, his eyes glazing over. “Damn Nino and his music career.”
Kame sat down next to him and smiled slightly. “Is Nino a musician?” he asked. Yoko nodded.
“When we were little, we wanted to form a boy band.” Yoko paused to sip from his beer can. “But my mom begged me to be a policeman, so I abandoned being a singer. Aiba didn’t really want to be famous, so he became a vet. Ryo had to take care of Erika when he was old enough to leave the foster home. They were in there since they were kids. So he was forced to get ‘a regular job’.” Yoko made quotation marks with his fingers. “Nino ended up being the only musician among us.”
Kame nodded as he listened to Yoko’s story. “That’s really great for him, then,” he said.
“Yup. You should listen to his lyrics. He wrote it himself. I swear they seemed to be about Erika.”
Kame blinked at him. “What?” He looked at Erika talking to Riisa near the dining table across the room and wondered why she never mentioned the other guy. He nudged Aiba across from him, interrupting another rendition of a song. “Ne, did Nino and Erika ever date?” he asked, ignoring Aiba’s annoyed look.
“No, but I think they like each other. They’re just too stupid to admit it.” Aiba said curtly, then went back to singing to end the conversation.
Kame retreated, walking up to Erika. He was about to tap her shoulder when he heard her asked, “Is Nino back from the balcony, yet?” Kame stopped in his tracks. She had asked him to come along, but through out the evening, she hadn’t bothered to stay close to him. Clearly he wasn’t needed here.
“I’m leaving,” he blurted out, annoyed. Erika jumped and whipped around. Riisa looked surprised as well.
“Why?” Erika asked. “The party’s just getting started.
“I have to do something. I’ll call you.” Without waiting for her to reply, Kame left.
***
Erika slammed the balcony door, seeing Nino from the corner of her eye jumped at the noise. She was letting out deep, rapid puffs of breath. Her hands clenched tightly, her nails digging into her palms. She marched to the empty chair at the table and plopped on it, slamming a pack of beer on the tabletop. Nino quietly watched as she pulled one can from the pack roughly, sipping and grunting in turn. In the dim lighting, she could see him staring droopily at her, but she ignored him. Her face felt hot with anger. Argh, the nerve of that guy leaving abruptly like that, embarrassing her in front of Riisa. Why did she invite that idiot anyway?
“You’re pretty,” Nino slurred, propping his chin on his palm, giving her a lopsided smile.
Erika shot a glare at him. “Don’t you start, either,” she snapped. “You men tell lies all the time. You tell us all these nice things just so we go out with you, then just leave without any valid reasons.”
“I never told you this, but I have been in love with you.”
Erika blinked, silenced by his abrupt confession. She stared at him for a second, then her gaze moved to the almost-empty pitcher of Kool-Aid. She smiled slightly. “You’re drunk.”
Nino scoffed. “I’m not drunk. I was only drinking Kool-Aid.” He poured another glass of the green liquid and chugged it down.
“Didn’t aniki tell you Yoko made it? You know he would put something else in there, right?”
Nino shook his head adamantly. “No way. Yoko knows I can’t tolerate alcohol. He wouldn’t do shit like that just to get me drunk.”
Erika laughed, knowing it was pointless to argue with him whether or not he was drunk. Everybody knows Yoko likes making cocktails, so she wondered why Nino would even take the stuff Yoko had put his hands on.
Her anger seemed to melt away. She set the beer can in her hand on the table, and propped her chin on her fist. “You know, you always make me laugh, even though you probably don’t mean to.” She paused, hesitating for a moment before saying, “I never really get to thank you.”
“Well, I’m glad I’m amusing to you, even though Yoko and Aiba are the clowns.”
“No, no. Not about that. Begging your mom to talk to the child services to let us in the foster home near our old neighborhood. It was nice of her to let a couple of orphans in her home most of the time, too.”
Nino nodded slowly. “I just couldn’t let you guys move so far away,” he said. “Ryo is my best friend and you’re, well, someone important to me, too.”
“You’re someone important to me, too.” She felt her face flushed again, but this time, out of shyness. She wasn’t so sure if what he had confessed was the truth, but she felt giddy just the same. She didn’t know when she had started liking him, but she remembered being startled admitting her feelings to herself.
He leaned in closer to kiss her, when the rain suddenly poured over them. They yelped in surprised when the thunder seemed to boom over their heads, deafening them for a second. They hurried to get inside, though Erika had to help Nino up from falling down. When they got in, nobody was around. Thinking Yoko and Aiba had probably left before the storm started, Erika let that speculation slide as she sat Nino on the couch.
“Let me get a towel to dry you off,” she said.
“Wait.” Erika nearly gasped when Nino gripped her wrist, pulling her down next to him. Before she could react, he kissed her. She pulled back after a moment, getting up to grab a towel from the bathroom. Nino suddenly stood up along with her and started taking off his shirt, dropping it on the floor.
“What are you doing?” she asked. “Let me get a towel.”
“It’s kinda hot in here,” Nino complained, sloppily unbuckling his belt and unzipping his zipper. He pulled his boxer and pants down without a care while Erika turned around, her face flushed at the sight of him naked. “Do you wanna make out?”
Erika turned to face him. His eyes were almost closed, but she couldn’t tell if it was out of passion and lust or of drunkenness. Fearing her brother might come back and get the wrong idea about Nino standing naked in the living room, she put his arm around her shoulders, making sure not to stare from the waist down. Nino didn’t protest much as she half carried him to the guestroom where she was staying.
Nino pulled her down with him when she laid him down on the bed, wrapping her around his arms. Erika gave up protesting from his embrace and looked at him. Surprisingly, his eyes were opened wide enough to stare at her.
“Stay with me tonight,” he whispered. Erika nodded. She was about to lean closer for a kiss when Nino closed his eyes, soon asleep. Erika groaned, rolling her eyes. So much for finally being in bed together.
***
Ryo and Riisa giggled as they came back into her apartment. Earlier, they had snuck out while Erika went to check on Nino after Kame had left. They ducked into a dark alley when Yoko followed them out. They waited until he was getting frustrated and left, calling Aiba to meet him for a drink. As luck would have it, it started to rain heavily, and feeling no choice, they had to go back.
“Shh…” Riisa said, putting her finger on her pursed lips. “Erika might be sleeping already. I don’t see Aniki, though.”
“Maybe he’s still moping in the balcony,” Ryo suggested. He shrugged, then led her to the couch. Riisa allowed herself to be pulled down on his lap.
“In the rain?”
Ryo shrugged again, but instead of replying, he started kissing her. With Nino forgotten, they allowed their small passion to envelope them.
“Let’s get you out of these wet clothes, shall we?” Riisa mumbled on Ryo’s lips, nimbly unbuttoning his pants and pulling them down to the floor, carelessly leaving it on the already soaked rug. Ryo got up and carried Riisa in his arms as they made their way to her bedroom. He plopped her down on the bed, with him splaying over her.
“Ryo, wait.” He stopped for a moment to look at eye her. “I put the condoms in the bathroom. I’ll go get it.” He slid off to her side and watched her get up to get some.
***
Erika exited the guestroom, and looked around. She could’ve sworn she heard her brother and Riisa talking in the living room, but seeing the empty space, she assumed they might be sleeping already. She went to the couch and picked up Nino’s pants, noticing her own brother’s clothes scattered on the floor as well. She decided to leave them for him to pick up in the morning, and walked back to the room.
The lightning and thunder crashed in unison just ouside the balcony, startling her. Then the lights went out and she was left standing in darkness.
***
Riisa checked herself in the mirror first, patting her ratted hair down. Her face was flushed from the heated kiss that reminded her why she had to hurry get the condoms. As soon as she grabbed a handful from the cabinet under the sink, the lights went out. She jumped a little at the sudden darkness then felt her way to the door.
***
“Aw!”
Itai!”
Erika dropped the clothes as she landed hard on the floor. She heard something else being dropped as well. From the sound of the other’s voice, she knew it was Riisa she had bumped into.
“Sorry,” Erika said, then felt the ground for Nino’s clothes, unwittingly kicking Ryo’s under the couch. She felt something smooth instead and picked it up, nearly pricked by the sharp corners of the square packet. “Uh, I think this is yours.” She felt where she had assumed Riisa was and handed her the square packet.
“Uh, thanks.” Riisa whispered. “Um, please don’t tell Aniki about it, okay? He doesn’t know Ryo and I are dating.”
“Sure, no problem.” Erika finally felt the wet clothes and took it. “I better get back to the room.” She hesitated for a moment before saying, “Riisa, does Nino know I like him?” There was no reply, making her think Riisa had gone back in her room already.
“No, but you should tell him straight. He can be dense sometimes.”
Erika smiled, then crawled her way to the room in the dark. She finally felt the door and slowly opened it, wondering if Nino was still asleep after all that commotion. The room was still, so she got on her feet and walked in.
“Hey, I’ve been waiting for you,” a too-familiar voice said in the dark. “Hurry up and get in bed with me, already.”
The lightning flashed just then outside the window. In the few seconds it flashed, Erika saw Ryo splayed on the bed.
“AH!” the Nishikido siblings yelled in time to the thunder. Erika shuddered at the sight of her naked brother. She heard him got up from the bed and walk to her.
“Where’s Riisa?” Before she could reply, he grabbed the clothes from her hands he had seen her holding then stomped out the door, stubbing his toe on the doorpost on his way out.
***
Riisa glided between the covers of the bed and snuggled up to the warm body under the sheets.
“Babe, I’m ready,” she whispered. Nothing, except for the heavy breathing of a sleeping person. Disappointed that he didn’t wait for her to get back, Riisa pouted and shifted on her side. So much for making love to her boyfriend.
***
Erika shifted on her side and collided her forehead to the bedpost. Rubbing her head, it took her a few seconds to orient herself before remembering she had slept on the floor in Riisa’s room. She was just iffy to sleep on the bed where there might still be an imprint of her brother’s naked butt on the mattress.
The storm from last night had finally calmed. It was still very early for the sun to come out, so she figured she better go for a run before it gets hot. With everything that had happened the night before, she wanted to get her head cleared before she could tell Nino how she felt about him.
“Oh, shit, I can’t run,” she mumbled. Her spare clothes were kept in the guestroom, she had almost forgotten about that. Maybe she could sneak in and grab her bag and change in the bathroom. She opened the door and quietly made her way to the guestroom and grabbed her things without looking at the bed.
When she got out of the bathroom, she was startled to find Ryo sitting at the dining table in the semi-dark corner drinking a cup of coffee and smoking.
“Hey,” he said in a stage whisper.
“What are you doing there at this hour?” she asked, sitting on another chair across from him.
“Wondering if I had told Nino the truth between Riisa and me we wouldn’t be in this predicament.”
Erika rolled her eyes. “Sheesh, it’s just one night of not sleeping with your girlfriend, big deal.”
“It’s our anniversary.”
“Oh.”
“I gotta tell him this morning,” Ryo said with determination, stabbing the cigarette on the ashtray to emphasis his point. “If he doesn’t give us his blessing, then that’s too bad ‘cause we love each other.”
“Aniki, I love him,” Erika blurted out. Ryo blinked, taken aback by her outburst. “I don’t know when I started thinking about him a lot and liking him, but….”
“I know.” It was Erika’s turned to blink this time. Ryo smiled. “I also know he loves you back. The idiot is so transparent about it, but he is so bad at acting like he doesn’t when you’re around. Look, let’s tell him when he wakes up, okay. That way, if you confess first, then he’d likely be less mad if I tell him about Riisa and I.” He chuckled, getting up and went to Riisa’s bedroom.
Erika shook her head in amusement at her brother’s statement. Then getting up herself, she left for her daily run.
When she came back 45 minutes later, the apartment was quiet, and Ryo was not around. She took a shower and changed into her top and a skirt when Riisa and Nino’s screams rang through the apartment. In horror, Erika rushed out of the bathroom to check what the matter was.
~~~~~~~~~~

“So that’s what happened last night,” Ryo said sheepishly. He patted his leg. “And your pants are getting dry.”

Nino sat there silently with furrowed eyebrows and arms folded on his chest. The gesture made everyone fidgety, his intent glare fixed on Ryo. Riisa, who had been mad at him for the incident earlier, waited anxiously for her brother’s reaction.

“Aniki, say something,” Riisa said cautiously, poking a finger on his arm.

Nino got up, making everyone think he was going to say something, but instead went out the door without a word. The three looked at each other in worry and surprised before Erika got up to follow him.

“Nino?” Erika tapped his shoulder. Suddenly, he whipped around, grabbing her shoulders and nearly slamming her onto the wall of the building. She gasped when he pinned her with his hands, his face inches from hers. For a second, she panicked from his angry expression, but she saw in his eyes he was hurt. He softened his grip on her shoulders and sighed. “They didn’t mean to betray you, Nino. They were scared how you would react.”

“I know.” He let go, shoulders sagging, eyes looking away. “Actually, I feel the same way. I don’t have the right to be hurt or feel betrayed because I’m doing the same thing to Ryo.”

“Huh?”

He turned his gaze to her and smiled. “Daisuki.” His cheeks turned red as he shyly took her hand. “I was scared how Ryo would react, so I kept my feelings hidden for so long.”

“He knows.”

“What?” Nino blinked and could’ve sworn he heard something screech to a stop. “He knew I liked you? Is that why he thinks he can go ahead and mess around with my sister?” He turned to glare at the Riisa’s apartment. “Why that little di—“

Erika grabbed a hold of his shirt before he could stomp back to the apartment and pulled him back. She turned him around to face her and kissed him hard on the lips. Nino’s eyes widened in surprised before he closed them as he settled into the kiss.

“Forgive them, okay?” Erika mumbled when they broke apart for a moment to breathe. “For me?” Nino nodded, then turned to walk back to the apartment. Erika hung on to his wrist. “Where are you going? I thought you said you’d forgive them.”

“I have,” he said with a smile. “I also want us to get out of here.”

Erika smiled. “Okay, let’s go.”

“But first, let me get my pants back.”

Oh my goodness. You managed to put in so many things that I like! Riisa! Erika! And it's Nino/Erika, you don't even understand how happy that makes me. Thank you for daring to do something different!

I really like how Ryo+Erika are a sibling team, and Nino+Riisa are a sibling team, and they pretty much... crossover, hahaha. It is great. And the Ryusei no Kizuna reference! How Ryo+Erika were in an orphanage! That was super cleverrr.

Poor Ryo and Riisa, though, throwing Nino a birthday party so they wouldn't get caught. XD And on their anniversary! And of course Nino would sulk because he didn't get presents.

But it all worked out in the end. ♡ And Nino and Erika got to be together.

Thank you so much!

Hi, I'm glad you like it. I wrote so many variations on this, and I'm glad this won over. haha. Thank you for such detailed request. It was most helpful.
See you around the next exchange.
