Thank you so much for this amazing comment! I'm sorry for all the pain and sadness, but I had no choice but to commit to the idea. The Aimiya scene was probably the hardest, not gonna lie. I felt so bad :(

It's interesting that you didn't find it to be a happy ending! I guess the confirmation of our mortality does make it sort of bittersweet since now it's pretty much a given that Ohno gave up the chance to live forever (or at least much much longer) just to be with Nino and his very much human lifespan. I suppose there are good AND bad things about such a heavy choice!
