Truth be told, I only recently heard of this myth myself (in the context of a talk on Korean Buddhism) but it stuck with me, and I was super pleased that NinoEx gave me a chance to play with it a bit. XD Murakami's such a weirdo but I think his stories are so strangely captivating, so I'm glad this fic worked for you on that level, too!
